"Fresh Slice Pizza" Warning

I was in Fresh Slice Pizza restaurant at the Commercial Drive location, Vancouver. Ordered 1 slice and french fries. I did a quick calculation in my head as to what the total order would be. I paid using my debit card, but the actual requested by the cashier was more. I looked at the debit card receipt, and unbeknownst to me, the cashier charged an extra 30 cents. I asked her why. She said it was to pay for Interac debit card fees. Yeah, this is a small amount, but the point is is that there was no signage by the cashier stating this. Moreover, the cashier didn't even say anything. Nada. I told her that they should at least tell the customer first before they charge the extra for the fee. She said "sorry" and shrugged her shoulders.
There ought to be a law against adding on fees without telling the customer first.
